Timberwolves Preview
  • This will be the second trip for sophomore, Kendra Couturier (Lake Leelanau/Lake Leelanau St. Mary’s) who attended last year’s championship in Richmond, VA. This season Couturier continued steady progress throughout the season as she moved the needle and broke her personal record four meets in a row leading up through the Region XII Championship. Her current personal record of 20:30 is 43 seconds faster than her previous one set in 2024. Couturier currently holds the 3rd fastest time in NCMC Women’s Cross Country history and was name MCCAA All-Northern Conference during the Northern Conference Championship.
  • Sydney Feagan (Harbor Springs/St. Michael’s Academy) qualified for the National Championship for her sophomore campaign. Feagan made significant gains this season and has been a leader for the program every step of the way. Her 5K personal best of 21:11 was set at the Region XII Championship. Feagan was named MCCAA All-Northern Conference this season.
  • Freshman Dakota Taylor (Naubinway/Engadine) has been leading the Men’s Cross Country team all season as the top finisher for the Timberwolves. Coming from the high school 5K race and transitioning to the 8K race he has peaked in time for the post-season and ran an exceptional race at the Region XII Championship in order to qualified for Nationals. His first 8K race was on the same course at the Region XII Championship and he improved over the course of a season by one full minute to set his new personal record of a 28:13 last week. Taylor was named to the MCCAA All-Northern Conference team for his freshman season.
