The Timberwolves Volleyball Team Rally's Late to Take Down the Pioneers of Delta CC

Petoskey, MI – The Timberwolves (12-7, 4-4) returned home Saturday afternoon, after a three-game road skid. They faced Delta CC (7-12, 3-5) who they had lost to, just five days prior.  

Match vs Delta CC 

The Timberwolves dominated set one, 25-16. Set two was much of the same, 25-15. Delta was not going down easily, as they came out with an explosive start in the third set, taking it 25-17. With their backs against the wall, the Pioneers pulled through in the fourth set, winning 25-19, to force a fifth set. The Timberwolves got off to a strong start, with the Pioneers battling back to make it 9-8. It was all Timberwolves from there on out; as they pushed through to the finish, to take the fifth set, 15-9; winning 3-2.  

Statistical Leaders 
  • Sophie Kieliszewski (Rogers City/Rogers City) registered nine total kills - a new career high.
  • Taylor Hafeman (Gering/Scottsbluff) led the defense with 15 digs.
  • Calleigh Councillor (Fort Frances/Fort Frances) was active defensively, registering four block assists.

The Timberwolves have a short turnaround, as they host the Norse of Bay College, this Monday, October 13th, in their Canada Day Game. The Timberwolves faced the Norse last on September 17th, winning in four sets.
