Women's Basketball Can't Keep up with Hot Shooting from Montcalm CC

Petoskey, MI – The Timberwolves (3-16, 1-6) fell into a hole during the first half when Montcalm CC (7-13, 4-3) shot a hot 40% from behind the three-point line and couldn’t recover. After a spirited halftime locker room chat the team came out and won the third quarter 23 to 21 but it wasn’t enough as the Centurions would hit the 100 mark in the final minute.

Statistical Leaders

• Cadence Cullen (St. Ignace/LaSalle) recorded a double double with 13 points and rebounds.
• Evelyn VanTol (Frankfort/Frankfort) scored a team high 14 points.
• Arika Taylor (Joliet, IL/Joliet Central) hit double digits with 10 points and dished out 6 assists.
• Ceara LeBlanc (Brimley, MI/Brimley) converted on three 3-point attempts plus one from the charity stripe for 10 points.

This wraps up the first half of conference play and the Timberwolves will now play each MCCAA Northern Conference opponent again. This will start with a 3 game road stretch taking on nationally ranked opponents before turning home again on Valentine’s Day.
