Coach Rod Anderson Looks to Lead NCMC Cross Country Program in Year Six

Petoskey, MI Timberwolves Cross Country Head Coach Rod Anderson enters his fourth season as the coach of the Timberwolves. Prior to Cross Country becoming a varsity sport in 2022, NCMC had participated at the club level since 2019; with Anderson leading that program. Rounding out his contributions accumulating over the last six seasons. 

Timberwolves returners include JT Greenier (Charlevoix, MI/Boyne Falls) on the men’s side; while Kendra Couturier (Lake Leelanau, MI/Lake Leelanau St. Mary’s), and Sydney Feagan (Harbor Springs, MI/St. Michael’s Academy) return on the women’s side. 

The incoming freshmen on the men’s side include Brady Bearss (Boyne City, MI/Boyne City), Kincade Holt (St. Ignace, MI/LaSalle), Sebastian Hornibrook (Petoskey, MI/Homeschool), Sam Rahilly (Newberry, MI/Newberry), and Dakota Taylor (Naubinway, MI/Engadine). 

The incoming freshmen on the women’s side include Vada Finch (Rogers City, MI/Rogers City), and Sakura Springborn (Harbor Springs, MI/Home School). 

The Timberwolves remain consistent on staff, with Assistant Coach Andy Place returning for his fourth season alongside Anderson. Prior to joining Anderson at NCMC, Place coached Track & Field at the high school level for over two decades. Enjoying a plethora of success including two Regional Championships; and a top 5 State Championship finish.  

First meet of the season is set for Friday, August 29th, 10:00am at St. Clair County Community College.
