The Timberwolves Pull out a Gritty win Late, Against an Energetic Crowd on the Road
Alpena, MI - The Timberwolves Traveled to Alpena, MI to take on the Lumberjacks of Alpena Community College on Wednesday, January 28th at 7:30 PM. They played in front of a massive, hostile crowd. The crowd noise impacted Timberwolves' flow, early, as the Timberwolves did not register a single score for the first seven minutes of the contest; making the score 4-0, in favor of the Lumberjacks, at the 13-minute mark of the first half. After a 30-second timeout, the Timberwolves came out with a spark. Notably, Logan McCauley (Wolverine/Wolverine), came off the bench and hit four first-half threes, providing the spark the Timberwolves needed. They went into the half up seven points. Another four-minute scoring lapse to start the second half allowed the Lumberjacks to regain control of the lead. It was back and forth throughout the rest of the second half, making for an exciting contest. Ultimately, multiple late game efforts, propelled the Timberwolves to a 75-70 victory.
Statistical Leaders
- Camari Keller (Vincent/Vincent) had a career night, scoring 20 points - a career high for him in his first season as a Timberwolf.
